Instructor

Julian Crowhurst is a composer and pianist based in Annapolis, Maryland with over ten years of music teaching experience. He has been playing piano for over 25 years.

In 2016, he graduated from New York University with a Master of Music in Scoring for Film and Multimedia. Julian earned a Bachelor of Music Composition from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2013, with a minor in piano performance.

Julian has scored multiple video games, short films, a documentary, and a feature-length film currently available on streaming. He has also composed numerous concert works. As a pianist, he has performed as a soloist and accompanist.

Lessons

Location:

Annapolis Piano Lessons is conveniently located in Whispering Woods neighborhood – right off of Route 50 and Bay Dale Drive in Annapolis (Exit 28, by the Red Hot & Blue). The studio is easily accessible from Annapolis, Arnold, Kent Island, and the surrounding areas.
Both in-person and online lessons are available, though in-person is preferable! Learn more about online lessons.

About:

Learning music should be fun! I love playing music, and am grateful for the opportunity to share that with others through teaching. I do my best to ensure lessons are both educational and enjoyable.
Students will learn how to practice. They will see how practice, discipline, and hard work leads to tangible results. Anyone can learn how to play piano!
Each student is unique and therefore, each lesson is as well. I take in a student’s individual music goals and structure our lessons accordingly. Students should expect to study a variety of styles and genres.
I incorporate many different musical subjects into my lessons. Students can learn about music theory, history, composition, production, and more throughout their studies.
Music theory topics are also incorporated directly into piano lessons so students can have a better understanding of what they are playing, and why it sounds the way it does.

Rates

Private lessons are available at the following prices:

30 minute lesson: $40 per lesson
45 minute lesson: $60 per lesson
60 minute lesson: $80 per lesson

Lessons can be paid for individually or monthly.

Payment Methods: Cash, check, credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Venmo.

Online Lessons

Online piano lessons with Annapolis Piano Lessons

Online lessons are hosted via Google Hangouts. A free Google account is required.
You will need at least one device with a webcam (smartphone, tablet, computer). Two devices is preferable for an online setup, but we can work with one!
